Our idea of a public school: a place for students to get inspired, a sign that to imagine and construct alternative worlds is possible.
We believe that school education is also education to beauty, to space, to physical relationships and their social implications/interactions. The volumes are organised around the voids, defining open areas that represent the very core of the project. On the city side, part of the site is converted to a public space, belonging to the school but open to public.
The internal space is focused around a courtyard. Crossing the courtyard, a "Gallery" area that can be open or enclosed depending on the weather.
The internal space is flexible and adaptable to different configurations, moving away from the fixed classroom, in favour of a new spatial concept that aims to transform the way we educated students, active protagonists rather than passive recipients of a top-down knowledge transmission.
